Introduction. What is NOT a True and Real AI
Dear Reader, let me start with revealing a big secret to you, which could be shocking as a naked truth from a fable in which Truth and Falsehood went bathing, Falsehood then dressed in Truth's clothes, and Truth, refusing to take another's clothes, went naked. [ Late 1500s]
True AI is NOT
1: a branch of computer science dealing with the simulation of intelligent behavior in computers;
2: an area of computer science that deals with giving machines the ability to seem like they have human intelligence;
3: the capability of a machine to imitate intelligent human behavior;
4: the ability of a digital computer or computer-controlled robot to perform tasks commonly associated with intelligent beings; systems endowed with the intellectual processes characteristic of humans, such as the ability to reason, discover meaning, generalize, or learn from past experience;
5: machines that mimic cognitive functions that humans associate with the human mind, such as learning and problem solving.
Of all definitions, some real sense has only this one : "system that perceives its environment and takes actions that maximize its chance of achieving its goals".
True AI is NOT weak or narrow AI applications, from web searches to self-driving transportation, neural networks, machine learning, deep learning, multiple linear regression, RFM modeling, cognitive computing, or predictive intelligence/analytics.
As a result, today's "AI has become meaningless" and "often just a fancy name for a computer program", software patches, like bugfixes, to legacy software or big databases to improve their functionality, security, usability, or performance.
But true and real AI is gonna to have a new reality shift from physical reality to digital realities, mixed reality, augmented reality, virtual reality, simulated reality, or intelligent world, running by AI entities, machines, robots, engines, codes, algorithms, and platforms.
Real and true AI is to change the world in all respects and aspects, the economy and industry, society and life, governments and international relations.
Even a fake AI/ML/DL, every day we are witnessing new kinds of developments in each part of life, from politics to economics. It is impacting our daily life with deep fake news, chatbots, IoT devices, travel navigation, fraud detection, mass surveillance, smart home devices, smartphones, voice assistants, drones, self-driving cars, cybersecurity, and LAWs.
As Stephen Hawking had noted: “Success in creating effective AI, could be the biggest event in the history of our civilisation. Or the worst. We just don’t know. So we cannot know if we will be infinitely helped by AI, or ignored by it and side-lined, or conceivably destroyed by it”.

What is True AI or Real Machine Intelligence and Learning
True AI or Real Machine Intelligence and Learning is Transdisciplinary AI (Trans-AI). The Trans-AI is about programming/encoding/mapping/representing/modeling/simulating reality, physical, mental, social and digital, in computing machinery and robots, to effectively, efficiently and sustainably interact with the world.
It is embracing the human-imitating AIs, narrow and weak, strong and general, superhuman or superintelligence, programming/encoding/mapping/representing/modeling/simulating human brains/cognition/mind/intelligence/behavior in computing machinery and robots.
The Trans-AI is innovated not as an alternative to the pre-determined mainstream paradigm, but as a unifier to all the human-like AIs, from neural networks to machine learning to symbolic AI to cognitive AI and beyond.
