Exercises Sea Shield 2020, which were to take place in the Black Sea off the coast of Romania from March 27 to April 5, are in danger of collapse. The reason for this is coronavirus.

March 16, the French Corvette Commandant Ducing NATO Naval Forces entered one of the ports of Georgia. On the eve of entering the port, according to several media sources, three crew members revealed some symptoms of the disease, similar to the new coronavirus infection COVID-19. However, not a single crew member was isolated from the rest of the personnel, and therefore there is a high likelihood of coronavirus infection by other crew members and workers located in the port of Georgia.

According to the report of the World Health Organization (WHO) over the past day in the world confirmed about 3,000 cases of coronavirus infection. Only in the last day, 116 deaths from infection were recorded. Thus, according to WHO, the total number of infected people in the world is 382332. In Romania, near which Sea Shield 2020 exercises are planned, the number of infected is 576 people, 4 of which are fatal.
