So many terms are trying to define what makes wheeling circle of life. What more than just take a sleep, eat, pay your debts to the family and society? - And you will be filled with strength. Well, or do some other active rest there ...
However, demons have no problems at all - parasitize yourself on sinners and enjoy. But still, how is the breath of life actually arranged?
Perhaps the most investigated concept of vitality is Ayurvedic. Prana-tedjas-odjas are a kind of symbiosis of time and anti-entropy. Symbiosis in the sense that they all have measurement in seconds.
Prana is the ability of organisms not to increase their entropy over time. On the material level, this is expressed in the harmonious work of automatic and semi-automatic systems such as breathing, thermoregulation, intestinal peristalsis, heartbeat, etc.
Tedjas is the same prana but already compressed to the state of self-consciousnesd. E.g. part of the prana is spending on self & environment control. The life being acquires the ability to think, plan, purposeful activity. The essential material manifestations are vision and digestion.
Digestion is especially important here, because cannot be fully explained by the secretion of enzymes and microbiom activity. One third of it happens by the grace of God, by the intervention of this very tejas.
Prana is most pronounced during dreaming. Tedjas - at the time of wakefulness. And odjas is during dreamless sleep...
Odjas is the quintessence of Tedjas itself. The ability to freeze its part in the form of a seed and ensure its germination when favorable environmental conditions occur. At this point, entropy can even spontaneously decrease! The most significant material manifestations are the synthesis of proteins and polysaccharides...
And the soul is immaterial bystander, who prefers to self-identify with tedjas and the body in general.
