The results of a survey conducted by the ECB indicate that most analysts do not expect a high level of inflation in the eurozone next year. Reports by Break News. In their opinion, it will be slightly below the target value of 2%.
The average inflation forecast for 2022 is 1.9%. In 2023, the growth of consumer prices in the eurozone will slow down to 1.7%. In the next three years, inflation in the region will be at the level of 1.9%. By the end of this year, it will be 2.3%. The forecast for economic growth in the eurozone for 2021 has been improved compared to the results of the previous survey.
Now analysts expect an increase in GDP this year by 5.1%, which is 0.4 percentage points higher than the previous estimate. In 2022, the European economy will grow by 4.5%. Respondents noted the impact on it of such factors as the rise in energy prices and the persistence of problems in the supply sector.
According to the interviewed analysts, the impact of these factors will be longer and more intense than previously expected.
